Good calls :) I guess why I saw a win95 style copy between the two outlines while the skunk's outline fills was to really reinforce the fact that it's copying rather than moving or some other action. But you're right, there are options here. :) The track is CC BY-NC-ND, so you're right, I do need permission.

One comment around this:
"with a “windows 95” style file copy running between the two outlines, quickly filling up the outline of the skunk."
I would show an old school Amiga/Apple copy dialog instead of win95.

Storyboard it and sort-out copyright issues around the tune. By the time you have done the former hopefully the latter will be done also and you can take it to the next stage from there.

Odd coincidence, I was thinking about the utility of masking password input recently. Touch typing them means I often have to blank the entire field and retype when I think I may have mistyped. Plus there is always the caps lock issue, ie, I can't see the case of the password.

I like your suggested solution, particularly as it would be something implementable on the client side.

> the only people who have trouble remembering passwords are the ones who were born before 1980

And those which have to endure security systems which enforce regular unique password changes. /me fumes at National Bank's business banking

"So it would seem, that to cut a long story short, Apple’s emoji are directly incompatible with every other handset in the world."

Patently untrue. It works perfectly with my japanese Softbank 911T, through SMS, on a Swedish network (so there's no operator-side translation going on).

It seems to follow Softbanks own standard, which can be found here http://creation.mb.softbank.jp/web/web_pic_01.html
