Kill Dr Lucky More

Did a bit of snooping: found this page of KDL variants. I’m not on IM tonight – left my zip disk with trillian on it at my day job.

Kill Dr Stupid Rules

Bert, SmileyChris, Kodiak and I played Kill Dr Lucky the last two nights. Bert took the first night, and Kodiak won last night. I keep doing these excellent card combos to attempt a murder on the lucky one, only to realise that someone in another room can see me. So that started a house rule that tabled cards are not returnable to your hand. I’ve done that three times now. Smiley and Bert would crack up laughing when I did it. I have to laugh at myself for being so stupid. Then Bert went and did it and I had my turn at laughing! I tell you, board games are better in real life than say on the computer – the computer will tell you when you can’t do something, not other players… 🙂

Mmm… Risk

Yeah, I’m addicted to board games. I’ll admit it. Yesterday, $100 dollars of vouchers for The Warehouse (NZ’s Wal-mart) arrived in my hot little hand. I won them for doing a consumer survey with AC Nielson. So I bought Risk. And a laundry hamper.

Last night I played Kill Dr Lucky with Mufasa, MonkeyJay and Nelg, we really enjoyed it – full report later when I get a moment.

I am not cheap

I went into Mindscapes this arvo. Mindscapes is this store that sells heaps of really cool stuff, like board games, telescopes, books, puzzles, etc. I hate that place 😉 – they take my money in return for fabulous games! I usually go in there about once a month, and today I discover they have Cheapass Games! (so cheap, even their website is made of cardboard!) So I’m like “Yeah, you guys rule!” and then part with NZ$70. I bought Kill Dr Lucky and Girl Genius – The Works. Dr Lucky was $20, and I can’t wait to play it 🙂 I played GGTW with Smiley’s little brother Andrew who is down with his family for the weekend. He beat me. Isn’t tht always the case?

Code Legend

Smileychris is a freaking legend. He’s coded an Robo Battle Pigs game processor in Python. What makes him more of a legend is he did it in one weekend. I helped him a little, but nothing he couldn’t have figured out himself. I hope he releases it as open source – he’d make the game that much more popular. There were words of maybe having a SOAP service interface to it, and definetely a web site where you can play against other people. All the hard work is done! I tell you: LEG-END.
