MP3 CD Player Goodness!

I scored a portable CD player yesterday. It plays standard CDs, but the main reason I got it was because it can play CD-ROMs with MP3s on them. And the price was right at $120 for just the unit. I got it from The Pawnshop on Tory Street, cheers to the guys there! The protective layer on the digital readout was still intact, and apparently they cost about $300 from Dick Smith too (currently $199.50 on limited time special price). So I burned off a cd with 14 albums worth of MP3s on it, and it plays awesomely! It treats folders as albums, and plays tracks in alphabetical order, so you have to make sure that the tracks are numbered in the correct order you want them. It has a random function, but that’s per album rather than the entire disk. Still, an overall awesome purchase I’m extremely happy with!

Live from Palmerston North, it’s FNORD!

Hi All, I’m typing from Tuatha’s parent’s house. Last night, madness ensued, and twas good. At Tuatha’s friends place there were about 40+ people who I didn’t know. The crowd managed to consume: 2x bottles of Vodka, 1x bottle of Tequila, 1x bottle of Glenfiddich Whisky, 1x bottle of Melon Liquior, 1x bottle of Port, and various other alcohols. I didn’t consume much (editors note from Tuatha: he was fucked totaly and utterly) till we went into town (Murphy’s Law for about 2 minutes, Harvesters, then Uno). Rob, one of Tuatha’s friend introduced me to the Blackjack – 1/2 Chartreuce, 1/2 Black Sambuca! Oh yeah! Niiiiiiiice combo. Tuatha attempted 21 shots of something called the Anti-shaker (Chartreuce, Triple Sec, Vodka, and ‘V’) – good stuff, but he had to share after 8… To his credit he did many more than 21 shots worth over the course of the night. After that we got in a car with someone who hadn’t been drinking and went through the gorge to Ballance Bridge and we screamed into the gale-force wind howling through the gorge. We took lots of photos. We’ll get them up when I get the new hosting.

Off to Palmy

Tuatha had his birthday yesterday… Happy birthday dood. But his party is in Palmerston North, about 4-5 hours north of Wellington. So i’m catching the commuter train up there tonight, leaving Mel back in Wellington – Don’t worry, I’ll be back sweetheart! – Back on Sunday. Should be a hoot huh? Full report when I get back.

Mel’s Birthday

Last night was Mel’s Birthday. We went to La Casa Pasta where we dined, then afterwards we went to the ubitquitous Purple Onion and met up with Mel’s friends (and my friends too 😉 ). It was an awesome night, with everyone having a good time. Greets to everyone that was there, you’re all awesome 😀
I got Mel a Music Voucher from Manna, and also a magnetic Pocket Dominoes game. She loved both of them 🙂 Happy Birthday Mel 😀

Mmm.. Quotes

Neal Stephenson is probably my favorite author. Here’s some quotes Mufasa found by the man himself.
